Bill and Bob
Bob had a good day today. The doctors were able to put the speech valve in his trach. It seemed like the valve made it much easier for Bob to cough and swallow. Bob continues to make purposeful movements (nodding and turning his head). Again, he did show interest in the TV. When asked if he wanted to watch the hockey game Bob nodded yes.
It was good to see Bob tonight be so active. The nurse had me ask Bob to lift his left hand, which he did on command about 6 inches! He also is nodding his head yes and no when asked questions. I can tell that he's even trying to figure out how to remove the mitten on his left hand and swinging his left leg off the bed. I asked him if he was trying to get out of bed and he nodded yes! It's also hard to see him like this because I know that he is frustrated. Please continue to pray for his progress and give God the Glory.
